VERCON is one of the biggest gaming fair and convention in Italy (3000+ in 2004); it takes place every two years in Verona's fair padillions.
VERCON 2004 saw a resumed interest in ASL between italian players, more than 20 people gathered in order to play some friendly games. 6 months later in Verona there was the spring
gathering 2005 and 20 more players showed up. We are now gathering in various places in order to play our favorite game
The next step was an International Event, and VERCON 2006 was ideal. Beautiful city, nice accomodation so we secured a place in the fair.
We are still hammering out the details with the organizers and we'd like to share the opinions of all ASL players (veterans and inexperienced alike) considering a trip to Verona in order to play in the ASL event. Everything is still to be planned, but we think to organize a tournament in order to attract the "old hands", with a lot of space dedicated to friendly play and training games for inexperienced gamers.
