STORIA DELLA CANZONE:
questo brano venne registrato dallo stesso autore Jerry Reed agli inizi del 1967 per il suo album “The unbelievable guitar and voice of Jerry Reed” (RCA LPM/LSP-3756).
Lo stesso Reed suona la chitarra nella registrazione di Elvis: fu Presley stesso a volerlo a tutti i costi tanto che incaricò i suoi amici di portarlo in studio. Jerry si trovava a pescare e pare che si presentò in studio senza cambiarsi...

La canzone è ottimamente interpretata da Elvis,grande prova la sua,ma confesso che non mi è mai piaciuto il testo di U.S. MALE...

Comunque dove c'era Jerry Reed, si sentiva ! Che chitarra !!!
E poi, per me, questa è una delle canzoni che simboleggia il rinato Elvis, dopo l'isolamento delle colonne sonore.
Il testo ? Beh, il titolo non "lasciava presagire" altrimenti...

...Propio oggi durante la guida mentre ritornavamo verso casa, mio nipote (che sente molto il ritmo ... e questo pezzo chitarra-basso-batteria con i vari break) è una cannonata ... me l'avrà fatto ascoltare perlomeno una dozzina di volte poichè gli piace tanto. Il testo è quello che è, ma il brano lo richiede, e la pronuncia del nostro, bè qui è tipicamente (Slang) al 100%.

Jerry Reed è un grande chitarrista ed Elvis fece bene ad averlo in queste sessioni.
